I’m a multidisciplinary artist and textile designer based in the Scottish North Highlands, working across textiles, illustration, live painting and participatory arts. Alongside my independent studio practice, Blomandi Studio, I create creative experiences for events, festivals, organisations and communities.
My practice is rooted in the Highland landscape and a fascination with plant life, pattern and the details of the natural world: tangled hedgerows, sea-worn textures, seed heads and shifting light. These observations begin in sketchbooks and evolve into hand-painted textiles, illustrations and large-scale live paintings.
While the Highlands are at the heart of my practice, Blomandi Studio works internationally, with clients and collaborators across fashion, interiors, product and visual storytelling. I bring this same visual approach to live and participatory work, creating opportunities for people to watch, make, experiment and get involved.
I work with schools, cultural organisations, festivals, heritage projects, businesses and community groups, developing projects that respond to their setting and audience. I work flexibly across all kinds of spaces, from community halls and galleries to forests, beaches, festivals and public spaces. Whether developing a workshop, a collaborative project or a live painting for an event, I enjoy creating experiences that bring craft, colour and nature into the space.
